Weather Forecast Feb 4: Rain in South Tamil Nadu, Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh likely

To begin with South India, a trough of low lies over Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining parts of equatorial India Ocean. Since this system is moving west/northwestwards, southern parts of Tamil Nadu will witness light to moderate rain and thundershower with gusty winds. Meanwhile, rest of south peninsula will observe dry and warm day followed by pleasant night.

Up in North India, a feeble Western Disturbance is moving away eastwards and presently lies over East Jammu and Kashmir. However, due to its remnants and approaching of fresh Western Disturbance, spell of light rain and snow will occur over the higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. Meanwhile, in Northwest India, the layer of dense fog layer will weaken as wind pattern will be changing. However, moderate fog will continue to prevail over Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and North Rajasthan along with dense fog in parts of Uttar Pradesh.

As no significate weather is present, the central parts of India will observe dry and comfortable weather with cold nights. Night temperatures will increase over West Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan and decrease over East Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.

Lastly in East and Northeast India, due to a cyclonic circulation over East Bangladesh and adjoining South Assam, light rain and snow will occur over Arunachal Pradesh. Rest all parts of east and northeast India will remain dry. However, due to decrease in temperatures, moderate fog is expected over Bihar, North Jharkhand and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal.
