Weather Forecast Feb 22: Light rain in Himachal, Uttarakhand, West UP; dry weather in Delhi, Kashmir, Rajasthan

Beginning with North India, a trough is seen extending from North Punjab up till the foothills of West Uttar Pradesh. Hence, isolated rains can be seen over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, northern parts of Punjab, Haryana and the foothills of West Uttar Pradesh. Weather over Jammu and Kashmir, North Rajasthan, rest of Punjab and Haryana along with national territory, Delhi would be dry.

Due to icy cold north-westerlies blowing over the region, the minimums over Rajasthan, West Punjab, Haryana and Delhi might drop by two to three degrees and will be in the range of 10°C-14°C.

In Central India, north-westerlies would commence over Rajasthan, most parts of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. Thus, marginal drop in both, day and night temperatures of North Madhya Maharashtra, Konkan and Goa including Mumbai would be seen. The minimums over Central India would be in the range of 13°C-17°C. The maximums would settle in the lower 30s, however, Maharashtra will see day temperatures between 36°C-39°C.

A Cyclonic Circulation is seen over Assam and adjoining areas which would give scattered light rain over Arunachal Pradesh and East Assam. Rest of Northeast India would witness dry weather. Weather in Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Odisha is expected to be dry and warm.

Down South, an Anti-Cyclone is seen over Telangana and adjoining areas. Humid winds from Bay of Bengal would blow across Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. Thus, day temperatures in southern states will be around lower to mid 30s, whereas North Interior Karnataka and Rayalaseema would witness maximums between 36°C-38°C.
