Weather Forecast Feb 16: Rains in Dehradun, Nainital, Mussoorie

The Western Disturbance has now moved away, and a fresh Western Disturbance is now over North Pakistan. This has also led to return of cold wind, resulting in drop in the minimums by 2-3 degrees across the northwest plains. The night temperatures are further expected to drop by a couple of degrees over the states of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, West Uttar Pradesh and North Rajasthan.

A north-south trough is extending from East Bihar up till Andhra Pradesh. Hence, weather activity is expected to increase over Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal. Possibility of hailstorm along with lightning strikes cannot be ruled out. Scattered light rain might continue over East Uttar Pradesh and parts of Odisha.

The humid winds from Bay of Bengal along with the east-west trough running across the northeastern states are feeding moisture resulting in rains over entire North East India. State of Arunachal Pradesh might also witness snowfall at isolated pockets.

Pan Central India would witness dry weather. The flow of north-westerlies would drop the minimums over parts of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra. However, day temperatures might increase marginally over Gujarat.

Down South, we do not expect much change in weather pattern, thus dry and warm weather would continue. Temperatures over most places will be in lower 30s. However, Kerala, Coastal Karnataka, parts of Rayalaseema and Telangana would witness maximums in mid 30s.
