Weather Forecast Dec 23: Pollution to ease in Delhi, light rains in Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu

Beginning with North India, the Western Disturbance lies over eastern parts of Ladakh. Its induced Cyclonic Circulation lies over Northern parts of Haryana. Due to these systems, the higher reaches of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand may receive light spells of rain and snowfall. Light rains are likely over eastern parts of Rajasthan. Dry and foggy weather is likely during the morning hours over rest parts of Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. Delhi will once again see a cold and foggy morning. Here, pollution is likely to ease a bit due to the blowing cold winds.

Talking about Central India, a Cyclonic Circulation lies over Northeast parts of Gujarat. An upper air Trough is extending from east central Arabian sea to eastern Rajasthan. Due to these systems, light rain and thundershowers are expected at scattered places over western Madhya Pradesh, Madhya Maharashtra, north Marathwada and western parts of Vidarbha.

Coming on to East and Northeast India, due to the prevalence of dry winds, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha and West Bengal are likely to remain dry but cold. Hazy mornings are likely over Bihar, Odisha and West Bengal. Also, a Cyclonic Circulation lies over eastern parts of Assam. Due to this, Arunachal Pradesh may receive light rains and snowfall at isolated places. Other parts of Northeast states are likely to remain dry and sunny. Kolkata will see a sunny day.

Lastly in South India, a Trough of Lows is extending off Tamil Nadu coast. Due to this, one or two places in Tamil Nadu may receive light to moderate rains and thundershowers at scattered places. Kerala will also receive light rains. Also, a Low Pressure Area has formed over Southern Lakshadweep and adjoining Indian Ocean, due to which Lakshadweep islands are likely to receive moderate spells of rains and thundershowers. Chennai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad will remain dry and slightly warm with a hazy morning followed by a cloudy day.
