Weather Forecast Dec 18: Spell of rain, snow in Gulmarg, Dharamshala, Shimla, Day temperature in Delhi to rise

The Western Disturbance will affect the Western Himalayas by the night of December 18. Clouding will appear gradually; isolated places of the upper reaches may witness light snow and will gradually cover the rest parts of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand as well. Over the plains, clouding will increase gradually basically from the evening of December 18 and cold day intensity will decrease. Ground level fog will improve. Also, the isolated pockets may witness dense fog over North Punjab, North Rajasthan and North Haryana. Delhi will witness moderate fog in patches, minimums may drop marginally while maximum will increase.

Meanwhile in Central India, light to moderate fog may appear over Madhya Pradesh and adjoining Chhattisgarh. Dry weather will prevail, and morning temperatures may drop by a couple of degrees over pan Central India including Vidarbha. Pleasant dry weather conditions will be seen in Mumbai.

In east and northeast, light rain and thundershowers may occur at some places of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Nagaland. Fog and mist will continue in the morning hours over Northeast India.
Moderate fog may develop at many places of East India. Both day and night temperatures are likely to dip over the eastern states of our country. Sky will be mainly sunny with light cool winds.

Down South, the northeasterly winds will continue over Tamil Nadu, South Andhra Pradesh. Light rain and thundershowers with isolated moderate spells will prevail over Tamil Nadu and adjoining states. Dry and pleasant weather over Telangana and North Karnataka will be a sight.
