Weather Forecast Dec 13: Rains ahead for Delhi, Shimla, Manali, Srinagar, Nainital

North India, the Western Disturbance over Jammu and Kashmir has induced a Cyclonic Circulation over Northwest Rajasthan. We expect heavy rains and snow to continue over Western Himalayas leading to increased risk of landslides and avalanche. Northern plains of Punjab, Haryana and West Uttar Pradesh will also receive intense spells of rain. Day temperatures will fall by two to three degrees over most places. Similar rains are being forecast for Delhi. The city might get relief from the ongoing severe pollution by tomorrow.

Talking about East India, here a Trough is extending from the induced Cyclonic Circulation to Bihar. Rains are expected to commence over East Uttar Pradesh and parts of Bihar and Jharkhand by the night of December 12 and may continue until December 13. Weather of Odisha and West Bengal will remain dry. Light rains are possible over Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya.

Coming on to Central India, the rain activities are now expected to increase over Madhya Pradesh. Parts of Chhattisgarh and Vidarbha may also receive isolated rain activities. Northern districts of Gujarat as well as South Rajasthan may also receive isolated rains. Weather of rest Central India will remain dry.

Lastly in South India, a feeble trough is seen running from coastal Tamil Nadu to Sri Lanka. There may be a marginal Increase in rain activities over South Tamil Nadu and South Kerala. Isolated thundery activity may also continue over parts of Telangana. Weather of Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka will remain dry.
