Weather Forecast Aug 8: Depression to give heavy Monsoon rains in Bhopal, Indore, Nagpur and Akola

The Deep Depression has now weakened into a Depression which is over East Madhya Pradesh and adjoining areas. Hence, moderate to heavy rains will lash Vidarbha, West and South Madhya Pradesh, South Gujarat, Konkan and Goa.

Nagpur, Akola, Amravati in Vidarbha and Bhopal, Betul, Dewas, Indore, Khargone and Khandwa in Madhya Pradesh will witness heavy rains.

Mumbai will witness scattered light rain activities during day with chances of picking up pace during late evening or night.

Light to moderate rains with one or two heavy spells will be seen over East Madhya Pradesh, parts of Chhattisgarh, Southeast Rajasthan and Gujarat region along with parts of Madhya Maharashtra. Whereas, light scattered rains are possible over Saurashtra, Kutch and Marathwada.

Down South, a feeble offshore Trough is running along the West coast and the Monsoon surge is also active. Hence, moderate to heavy rains with one or two very heavy rains will continue over Coastal Karnataka, and Kerala with light to moderate rains to be seen over North Coastal Andhra Pradesh, parts of Telangana, and North Interior Karnataka.

While scattered light rains can be seen over South Interior Karnataka with isolated rains over Rayalaseema and Tamil Nadu. Andaman and Nicobar along with Lakshadweep Islands may receive moderate rains with one or two heavy spells. Bengaluru and Chennai will be almost dry with chances of Hyderabad witnessing light rains.

Meanwhile the rain activities will now reduce over Odisha but scattered light rains with one or two moderate spells may continue. While light to moderate rains with one or two heavy spells are expected over Sub Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, and parts of Assam. Whereas, East Bihar, East Jharkhand and rest Northeast India will record light to moderate rains with isolated spells over East Uttar Pradesh.

Up in the North, light to moderate rains with one or two heavy spells is expected over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, parts of Jammu and Kashmir. Localised thundershowers may occur over parts of Punjab, Haryana, North Rajasthan and at one or two places of West Uttar Pradesh. Weather of Delhi will be almost dry with humid and warm weather conditions in sight.
