Weather Forecast Aug 15: Heavy rains in East Rajasthan, West Madhya Pradesh and parts of Kerala

The Low-Pressure Area is over Northeast Madhya Pradesh and adjoining areas. The Axis of Monsoon Trough is running from Punjab to Northeast Bay of Bengal across this Low-Pressure Area.
Therefore, moderate to heavy rains are expected over East Rajasthan and West Madhya Pradesh. Places like Ujjain, Ratlam, Guna in Madhya Pradesh while Sawai Madhopur, Ajmer, Tonk, Kota, and Bundi in Rajasthan will be impacted these rains.

The central parts of Madhya Pradesh may also receive few moderate spells. Light to moderate rains with isolated heavy spells are expected over Gujarat region, Konkan and Goa. Whereas, scattered light rains can be seen over Chhattisgarh, Interior Maharashtra, West Rajasthan and Kutch. Mumbai to see light rains with one or two moderate spells.

Meanwhile in South, the off-shore Trough is running from South Konkan to Kerala coast. In the presence of active Monsoon surge and this Trough, moderate to heavy rains will continue over Kerala and South coast of Karnataka. The interior parts of Tamil Nadu and isolated pockets of South Interior Karnataka, North Coastal Andhra Pradesh and parts of Telangana may also receive scattered light to moderate rains.

Rest places will see isolated light rains. Whereas, Andaman and Nicobar Islands may get moderate rains with one or two heavy spells.

Heading to the eastern parts of the country, wherein the humid winds from the Bay of Bengal are increasing moisture over East and Northeast India. Therefore, light to moderate rains will be seen over many areas of West Bengal and parts of Bihar. Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Northeastern states will also receive scattered light rains with few moderate spells.
While light rains are expected now over Odisha, Jharkhand and East Uttar Pradesh.

Up in the North, the Axis of Monsoon Trough is extending from Punjab and Haryana and covering North Rajasthan as well. Thus, moderate showers can be seen over northern parts of Rajasthan. Whereas, patchy rains will continue over Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and West Uttar Pradesh.

Also, a Western Disturbance is over North Jammu and Kashmir. Therefore, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand will see light to moderate rains with one or two heavy spells.
