Weather Forecast April 9: Rain in East and Northeast India, Central India to remain dry and hot

To begin with North India, a fresh Western Disturbance lies over North Pakistan. Its induced cyclonic circulation is seen over Central Pakistan. Due to these systems, isolated light rains are likely over Jammu and Kashmir. Weather in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, North Rajasthan and West Uttar Pradesh will remain dry. However, isolated dust storm activities may occur in parts of Rajasthan.

In East/Northeast India, a cyclonic circulation is seen over Manipur and adjoining area. Therefore, we expect moderate to heavy rains over Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura. Scattered are possible over rest Northeast India, West Bengal, Sikkim, Northeast Bihar and Odisha. Weather of Jharkhand and East Uttar Pradesh will remain dry.

Dry winds will continue to blow over the central parts of India. Weather in Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra will remain dry and hot. Day temperatures will remain above 40˚C. Isolated pockets of Rajasthan, Vidarbha and Madhya Pradesh may witness heat wave condition.

In South India, a trough is running from East India to South Interior Karnataka across Telangana. Thus, isolated rain and thunderstorm will occur over Telangana, Rayalaseema, Kerala and South Interior Karnataka.
