Weather Forecast April 2: Mercury to soar in Delhi, Punjab, Haryana; Heatwave in Rajasthan, MP, Telangana

Beginning with North, no significant weather system is seen over the regions. With this, northerly winds are likely to prevail over the hills and adjoining northwest plains. The windspeed over northwest plains is expected to reduce. Sky would be clear with comfortable weather conditions over the hills. Morning to remain cool over the region. While, day and night temperatures would rise over Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. Also, heatwave conditions might develop over Barmer, Jaisalmer and Jalore.

Similar heatwave conditions would extend till Central India in some parts of Gujarat, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha. While isolated pockets of severe heatwave conditions might be a sight in parts of West Madhya Pradesh.

In East, a Cyclonic Circulation is over North Bengal and adjoining Bihar. Another Cyclonic Circulation is over East Assam. The east west trough is connecting both these circulations. Simultaneously, a trough from North Bengal to North Bay of Bengal can be seen. In the presence of these weather systems, moderate rain and thundershower activities are likely at many places of northeastern states with heavy over Tripura, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram and South Assam. Isolated pre-Monsoon rains and lightning strikes might be a sight over northeast Bihar, North West Bengal and adjoining Jharkhand. Thunderclouds might also develop in parts of coastal Odisha.

Down South, a Cyclonic Circulation lies over Karnataka and adjoining Telangana. A trough is extending from this system up to extreme South Tamil Nadu across Kerala. Rain and thundershower activities would be seen at isolated places of Telangana. Karnataka, extreme parts of South Tamil Nadu and Kerala might witness scattered rains.

Heatwave can further tighten its grip over Telangana. Temperatures to remain above normal for most of the places in South Peninsula with humid conditions to persist. Bengaluru and Chennai would be warm and humid. While, Hyderabad will experience hot and humid weather with chances of thundercloud development.
