May 29, 2015 11:27 PM |

Rainy weekend ahead for most parts of India. Monsoon is round the corner and we can see Monsoon clouds hovering over the Arabian Sea, off the Kerala coast.

A prolonged wet spell likely in North India. The Western Disturbance over here will first bring rain over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and plains of Punjab. On Sunday, we can expect cloudy sky and some rain over entire North India. The induced cyclonic circulation will enhance the rainfall activity. As a result, off and on rain will continue over the region till June 4.

Gujarat and Rajasthan will not receive any rain but southwesterly winds blowing over the area will bring a drop in temperatures.
The cyclonic circulation over Arunachal Pradesh will continue to bring fairly widespread rain over entire Northeast India. Isolated pockets could receive heavy showers as well.

The trough from the cyclonic circulation over East India will extend up to extreme southern parts of the Peninsula. We could expect some thundershowers all along the well-marked trough line.

In Peninsular India rain will be confined to Rayalaseema, Karnataka, Kerala and adjoining interiors of Tamil Nadu, during the weekend. Monsoon is knocking at the door. Kerala could start receiving good showers anytime now.

Most parts of India reeled under intense heat wave conditions for the entire week. At present, heat wave conditions are prevailing over parts of Telangana, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Jharkhand and east Madhya Pradesh. The total death toll across the country has crossed 1800. But, we can expect some respite over the weekend. In view of multiple weather systems, temperatures will crawl back to normal in most parts of the country within next 48 hours.
