Hot and sultry weather over most parts of the country. Heat wave conditions will continue to prevail over Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, parts of Andhra Pradesh and Jharkhand during the next couple of days. Few parts of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and west Uttar Pradesh have also come under the grip of heat wave.
But south-westerly winds could bring slight relief in Gujarat.
Northeast India has been received good pre-Monsoon rains. Thanks to cyclonic circulations over sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Assam. The cyclonic circulation over Northeast Bay of Bengal is also driving moist winds from the Bay of Bengal up the North-eastern states. This weather system will influence the Monsoon surge and finally bring it over Kerala.
For now, the present weather systems will bring rain over all the North-eastern states for next 48 to 72 hours. Few places could receive very heavy showers as well.
Here we can see a trough extending from Bihar to peninsular India. We cannot rule out thunderstorm activity along the trough line
Pre-Monsoon rains have taken a backseat over Peninsular India. Accordingly, temperatures are rising in this region.
Tomorrow Chennai will record maximum and minimum temperatures around 41 and 30 degrees.
Vidarbha is the hottest pocket of the country with Nagpur recording 46 degree Celsius as maximum temperature.
Heat wave building up in Delhi. Maximum temperature on Sunday will be 45 degrees.
