Heat wave conditions are prevailing over parts of Vidarbha, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and north Interior Karnataka. Few parts of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and west Uttar Pradesh, could also come under the grip of heat wave by Saturday.
The feeble Western Disturbance will bring scattered rain over Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. The cyclonic circulation over Punjab could lead to lead dust storm and thundershowers over few parts of Punjab, Haryana and Delhi.
Moist winds from the Bay of Bengal will penetrate up to Northeastern states. The cyclonic circulation over sub-Himalayan West Bengal will help in enhancing rainfall activity over Northeast India. The trough extending from this system will run up to Chhattisgarh. We cannot rule out some thundershowers over West Bengal and Odisha as well.
In West and Central India, hot and dry winds will make afternoon hours extremely uncomfortable.
The Monsoon current has advanced further and arrived over Sri Lanka. A thick cloud mass continues to bring heavy showers over east central and adjoining north Bay of Bengal. According to Skymet, the cyclonic circulation over the area could further intensify into a low pressure area. This system will then influence the Monsoon surge and finally bring it over Kerala.
As of now, pre-Monsoon rains have taken a backseat over the peninsular region. Tomorrow, we could expect only light and scattered rainfall over Kerala and coastal Karnataka.
Tomorrow Chennai will record maximum and minimum temperatures around 41°C and 30 °C.
Nagpur remains the hottest major city with maximum at 46°C.
Delhi will record 43°C as maximum and 28°C as minimum temperature.
