Temperatures on the rise in North, West and Central India. Hot and dry winds blowing from the northwest direction are pushing up the temperatures across the region. On Thursday, Marathwada adjoining Vidarbha and Gujarat will be two hottest pockets of the country. Day temperatures will be more than 40 degrees in almost two-thirds of the country and could reach mid-40s in pockets.
Talking about rain, Northeast will be the only place to be blessed by good showers. The trough extending from the cyclonic circulation across Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha and Andhra Pradesh will scattered rain in these areas. In fact, rain is likely to increase by tomorrow. As have been reiterated by Skymet, the zone rainfall activity will gradually expand up to Bengal and Bihar.
The cyclonic circulation can still be seen over Southeast Arabian Sea. It has given heavy showers in Kerala. The wind discontinuity along the Kerala and adjoining Karnataka could also be blamed for the rainfall. The cyclonic circulation will now move further westwards leading to a significant drop in rain intensity over the state.
