Looking at the weather models we can say that the Monsoon current is likely to gain strength and cover more parts of central and south Bay of Bengal. At present, a thick cloud mass can be seen over northeast and east-central Bay of Bengal. This region has been witnessing heavy rainfall for the last few days. Sure indication of a Monsoon system coming up in the Bay, within next 3 to 4 days.
For the time being, rains have reduced over the peninsular region. Tomorrow, we could expect only light and scattered rainfall over Kerala and adjoining interiors of Tamil Nadu.
We can see a cyclonic circulation over East India and a trough extending from the system up to Andhra Pradesh. Thundershowers along the trough line cannot be ruled out. But, Northeast India will be the only region to witness good showers on Friday. The presence of a cyclonic circulation are enhancing pre-Monsoon activity over the region.
In North India, the Western Disturbance over Jammu and Kashmir has brought dark clouds in the state. The cyclonic circulation over Haryana could bring dust storm over Punjab, Haryana and north Rajasthan. On Saturday, Delhi could witness some thunderstorm as well.
As rains have reduced, temperatures are rising in Tamil Nadu. Tomorrow Chennai will record maximum and minimum temperatures around 38°C and 29°C
