The last spell of widespread heavy rain and snowfall over the Kashmir valley that lasted for almost four days triggered a number of landslides. This resulted in closure of the 300 km-long Jammu-Srinagar national highway. More than 5000 people are still stranded.Traffic has been completely choked. Snow clearance work is already underway. And the good thing is that weather conditions across the state have improved.
