After witnessing below normal temperatures for the last entire week, temperatures across Northwest India are now expected to increase. Gujarat and Rajasthan are already recording above normal temperatures, creating heat wave like conditions across the states.
In absence of any activity, dry and hot northwesterly are blowing over the region that may lead to further rise in the maximums, giving no respite from the scorching heat for another two to three days.
Moving on to South India, heavy rain continues to lash most parts of southern peninsular.
A cyclonic circulation, prevailing over Lakshadweep and adjoining Kerala region, is giving moderate to heavy rain over Karnataka, Kerala and parts of Tamil Nadu.
While a trough from east Madhya Parades to interior Karnataka across Chhattisgarh and Telengana is causing moderate to heavy rain over Telengana and parts of Andhra Pradesh.
Another cyclonic circulation continues to prevail over northeast region, causing light to moderate rain over Northeastern states. However, intensity of rain will decrease during next 24 hours as the system becomes less marked.
