North India is gearing up for hot and sunny days ahead, as temperatures are expected to rise gradually in absence of any weather activity. At present, northern plains are witnessing partly cloudy sky but there is no rain in the offing.
Temperatures in Delhi on Tuesday are expected to settle around 34 degrees, Chandigarh 31 degrees and Agra 32 degrees.
On the other hand, Central and South India continue to witness moderate to heavy rain on account of a trough that is still prevailing over east Madhya Pradesh extending up to south Tamil Nadu, across Madhya Maharashtra, interior parts of Karnataka and Kerala.
In a span of last 24 hours, Hyderabad recorded whopping 61.4 mm of rain, breaking the all-time highest record of rainfall in a span of 24 hours. This was followed by Anantapur in Andhra Pradesh at 41 mm.
We expect rain to continue for another 48 hours, which will keep temperatures well below normal. Hyderabad on Tuesday is expected to record maximum around 29°C, 10 degrees below normal, Bangalore 29 degrees, again five degrees below normal and Aurangabad in Maharashtra around 30 degrees, nine degrees below normal.
