Two massive earthquakes, one measuring 7.3 and the other 7.1, shook Nepal once again. Tremors were felt in North and East India as well. Several people have been killed and injured in both the countries. Meanwhile, let’s take a look at the weather conditions in India.
Just as Skymet had predicted, pre-Monsoon activity has gained strength across the country. In view of dust storms, thundershowers and rain, temperatures are under check in most parts of the country.
The Western disturbance over Jammu and Kashmir and the feeble cyclonic circulation over Haryana will continue to bring thundershowers in entire North India. Pre-Monsoon activity will follow a reducing trend from tomorrow. Rains will ease out in the hilly states as well.
The cyclonic circulation over Bihar will bring thunderstorms and scattered rainfall over East and Northeast India. Due to good showers in last 24 hours, people in Bihar are enjoying pleasant weather conditions. Tomorrow, we can expect some rain along the trough line as well.
Another cyclonic circulation over southern parts of Tamil Nadu will continue to bring widespread rain over Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka and south Andhra Pradesh.
Increased amount of Pre-Monsoon activity in the plains have kept the temperatures below normal. Heat wave conditions have eased out in most parts of North India including Rajasthan and north Madhya Pradesh. Temperatures will start rising once again after the 14th of May. At present, most parts of the country are enjoying relatively better weather conditions. Temperatures are below normal in Bihar, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh and Sikkim. Fairly widespread rain in South India have brought down temperatures around mid-thirties in most of the states.
