North India is witnessing clear weather conditions, except plains that are observing cloudy sky but there will be no rain over the region. However, parts of Rajasthan are expected to witness dust storms and thunder storms over isolated places during the next 24 hours.
We can expect widespread moderate rain, accompanied with thundershowers, to continue over Central and South India for the third consecutive day. According to Skymet, a trough of low pressure moving across Chhattisgarh to south Kerala is receiving moisture from Bay of Bengal and Arabian Sea that has caused fairly widespread rain in last 24 hours.
Rain will further cover East India including parts of Odisha, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Bihar by Monday. We can expect rain to ease out by Tuesday as the system becomes less marked.
In a span of last 24 hours, Gulbarga in Karnataka recorded 39 mm of rain, followed by Punalur in Kerala at 38 mm and Akola in Maharashtra at 37 mm.
