Pre-Monsoon showers gaining strength across the country, thanks to multiple weather systems. In last 24 hours, rain has been witnessed in several parts of the country right from Jammu and Kashmir to Thiruvananthapuram. This activity will now get more intense.

As predicted by Skymet, a Western disturbance over Jammu and Kashmir combined with an induced cyclonic circulation over Haryana and adjoining areas are bringing scattered rain over entire North India. Dust storms followed by light rain will continue for next 24 to 48 hours, over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, and Delhi-NCR, west Uttar Pradesh and northern parts of Rajasthan.

In fact, thunderstorm activity will be witnessed in most parts of the country for the next two days. A cyclonic circulation over West Bengal will bring rain over the state and Northeast India. Rain is likely along the wind discontinuity line, extending from West Bengal to Telangana. Another cyclonic circulation over southern parts of Tamil Nadu will bring widespread rain over Tamil Nadu, Kerala, interiors of Karnataka and south Andhra Pradesh.

Rain across the country, not likely to affect the day temperatures much. Across the plains of North India maximums will come down to higher-thirties. Northeast India remains the coolest region of the country, with maximums around 30 degrees. The hottest pocket of the country will be Vidarbha and north Madhya Pradesh.
