Southwest Monsoon has slowed down across the peninsular India under the influence of cyclonic storm Ashobaa. Intensity of rain has reduced considerably over Kerala, while moderate rain was recorded over Konkan Goa and coastal Karnataka.
A cyclonic circulation is prevailing over Bihar and Jharkhand and a trough from this is extending up to Andhra Pradesh across Odisha and Chhattisgarh. Tomorrow, we can expect thunderstorm activities across the well-marked trough line.
Northeast India remains the most weather intensive pocket of the country. We can expect heavy to very heavy rain lashing the region on Thursday.
Moving on to North India, a feeble Western Disturbance is over North Pakistan and adjoining Jammu and Kashmir which will give scattered light rain over the state. Meanwhile, an induced cyclonic circulation from this is prevailing over North Rajasthan.
Both the system coupled together will trigger dust storm and thunder storm activities over the isolated places in plains, with chances of light rain over North Rajasthan and adjoining Madhya Pradesh on Thursday.
However parts of Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and East Madhya Pradesh will reel under heat wave conditions with maximum temperatures settling in mid 40s.
