Most parts of the country continue to reel under hot weather conditions with day temperatures across Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra settling above 40 degrees.

A feeble disturbance combined with an induced cyclonic circulation over central Pakistan and adjoining west Rajasthan is affecting north India. Both the systems will give light to moderate rain over the hilly states of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
While, isolated dust storms and thundershowers along with squally winds are expected to lash parts of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Northwest Rajasthan and West Uttar Pradesh.

Another cyclonic circulation is prevailing over Bihar and adjoining Gangetic West Bengal, which will give light rain accompanied with thunderstorms over Northeastern states, West Bengal, parts of Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh and Odisha.

Moving to South India, parts of Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu will also witness rain activity on account of a cyclonic circulation which is prevailing over Sri Lanka, Gulf of Mannar and extreme parts of southern peninsular. The activity will continue for next 48 hours.
