The deep depression over east-central Arabian Sea has intensified into a cyclonic storm named Ashobaa. At present, it’s lying around 500 kms west-southwest from Mumbai. The system is moving in a north-northwest direction, posing no threat to Indian coast. This system will give fairly widespread rainfall over coastal Karnataka and Maharashtra. South-westerly winds carrying enough moisture will also bring good showers over Gujarat, south Rajasthan and adjoining Madhya Pradesh. Rain will reduce significantly over interiors of Peninsular India. Monsoon showers will decrease in Kerala as well.

Another cyclonic circulation present over coastal Andhra Pradesh will bring good rainfall over the area. Gradually, the rain belt will shift towards interiors of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

Monsoon will remain active over Northeast India. Moderate to heavy showers will continue over the region. Moisture laden southerly winds coming from the Bay of Bengal are increasing rainfall activity over the region.

A fresh Western Disturbance is approaching the western Himalayas. It will bring scattered light rainfall over Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh on Tuesday.

Heat Wave conditions are prevailing over many parts of Bihar and isolated parts of Jharkhand. Temperatures will be above normal over rest of East India and Northwest plains. Hot and dry North-westerly winds are blowing over the region.
