No relief from scorching weather in north Gujarat, adjoining Rajasthan and Vidarbha. With maximums crossing 40°C in most parts of these states, afternoon hours have become extremely uncomfortable.
Dry westerly winds will lead to rise in temperatures across northern plains and Central India. Heat wave likely in pockets of Gujarat, as indicated by the red patches. Places lying within the orange patch will record maximums above 40 degrees.
Temperatures following a rising trend in Northern plains as well. As indicated by the yellow patch, maximums here will settle above 38 degrees.
Hot and dry north westerly winds blowing over these areas are responsible for rising temperatures. There will be no relief from sweltering heat at least next 3 to 4 days.
A low level trough can be seen extending from north Bihar to Gangetic plains.
Northeast India, sub-Himalayan West Bengal adjoining Bihar, and parts of Jharkhand could receive isolated to scattered thundershowers tomorrow. Squally winds to the tune of 70 to 80 kmph can’t be ruled.
Isolated pockets could receive rain and thundershowers over coastal parts of Odisha and the Andhra Pradesh. South Karnataka, interiors of Tamil Nadu and Kerala could also receive some light rain, in view of the wind discontinuity.
