Three pockets across the country are witnessing rainy weather conditions at present. Unabated, intense rain over Jammu and Kashmir is maintaining a strict flood threat over the hilly state.

On Wednesday, Banihal and Batote received around 67 mm of rain. Rain was widespread in the state. Temperatures across the region have once again come down 8 to 10 degrees below normal average.

The Western Disturbance moving across the region has also brought very light rain in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab and Haryana. Rain seems to be have dashed all the extended weekend plans.

The rain belt will cover Delhi, west Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and northern parts of Madhya Pradesh over the next 2 days. Rain will subside by Saturday over entire North India.

Rainfall is likely to continue over the Northeastern states for another 3 days. In a span of 24 hours from 8.30 am on Wednesday, widespread rain was witnessed over the region. Dibrugarh in Assam recorded 33.5 mm of rain while Itanagar received 57 mm.

Pre-monsoon activity will continue in the Southern part of the country for another 24 hours. On Wednesday, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, South Interior and Coastal Karnataka received some rain.
