March had commenced on a rainy note. And now April follows suit as rain is likely in most parts of the country for the next few days.
As have been reiterated by Skymet, it has already started raining in Jammu and Kashmir. There was a very short respite of 24 hours after the spell of record breaking rain creating havoc in the state.
Just as the flood situation started improving, it started to rain once again. Rescue operations will have to be stopped once again as the intensity of rain will increase on Thursday.
The rain belt will extend to cover Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand by tomorrow. Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, west Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and northern parts of Madhya Pradesh will also witness a rainy day. These areas will receive rain for about 48 hours and rainfall is likely to reduce by Saturday.
Northeastern states are also witnessing a rainy spell. A low-level cyclonic circulation over West Bengal and adjoining Bihar and Jharkhand coupled with an anti-cyclonic circulation over Bay of Bengal, is finally bringing some good showers in the region.
April has commenced on a rainy note and pre-monsoon activity has gained strength in the Peninsular India. The present spell of rain is expected to continue for the next 2 days.
