Peak of summer has descended upon North and Central India. But, you need not fret much as the month of May is likely to register more rainy days in these parts as compared to last few years.
Meanwhile, let’s find out the present weather conditions across the country.

A Western Disturbance over Jammu and Kashmir will continue to bring rain over the state and some parts of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

The cyclonic circulation has shifted to west Uttar Pradesh. This system is still bringing humid easterly winds over the area. These winds are keeping the temperatures under check in the plains. The system will move further eastwards and merge with the circulation over Bihar.

This weather system is responsible for induction of moist winds from the Bay of Bengal. Therefore, rain is likely to continue over East and Northeast India for next 2 days.

Maharashtra continues to be the hottest pocket of the country, closely followed by Rajasthan and Gujarat. According to Skymet, dry northwesterly winds are pushing up temperatures in the region. No relief from scorching heat at least for next 48 hours.

Isolated and light rain will continue over interiors of South India and adjoining Kerala region, in view of the wind discontinuity. Temperatures are rising in interiors of Andhra Pradesh and have touched 40 degrees as well.
