The Monsoon trough continues to remain defused and unmarked.
During the last 24 hours, Monsoon remained active over South interior parts of Tamil Nadu and isolated pockets of Kerala and South Interior Karnataka. At the same time, normal monsoon conditions were seen over Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Karnataka, Konkan and Goa, South Madhya Maharashtra, Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh and at one or two places over West Bengal, Sikkim, Odisha, Telangana and Marathwada.
Major rainfall contribution came from Karaikal at 83 mm, Paramathy at 75 mm, Coonoor 59 mm, and Jalna 47 mm.
As on September 27, the country wide rainfall deficiency stands at -9 percent. Northwest, Central and South India have received normal rains and are deficient by only 1%, 6% and 1%, respectively. Meanwhile, East & Northeast are rain deficient by 25%.

During the next 24 hours, Monsoon will remain active over Tamil Nadu, Kerala and South Interior Karnataka resulting in light to moderate rains with isolated heavy showers. Normal Monsoon conditions would occur over Coastal Karnataka, parts of Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, parts of Telangana and Northeast India giving scattered light to moderate rains.
Meanwhile, subdued Monsoon rains will occur over West Bengal, Odisha, South Chattisgarh and few pockets of Uttarakhand and Jammu and Kashmir giving light rains over these areas.
Rest of the country will experience dry weather.
