Monsoon Forecast for Sep 27, 2018: Rain in Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam

The Monsoon trough continues to remain defused and unmarked.

During the last 24 hours, Monsoon remained active over Assam and South Madhya Maharashtra. At the same time, normal monsoon conditions were witnessed over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha and Jharkhand. Similar weather conditions have been observed over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, interior parts of Karnataka and Interior Tamil Nadu.

Major rainfall contribution came from Mazbat in Assam that recorded 67 mm of rain, followed by Sangli 61 mm, Tezpur 45 mm and Ranchi 39 mm.

As on September 26, the country wide rainfall deficiency stands at 9 percent. Northwest, Central and South India have received normal rains and are deficient by only 1%, 5% and 2%, respectively. Meanwhile, East & Northeast are rain deficient by 24%.

During the next 24 hours, Normal Monsoon conditions would occur over West Bengal, Sikkim, North Eastern States, some parts of Odisha, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Coastal Karnataka, South Interior Karnataka, Kerala, Interior parts of Tamil Nadu, parts of Rayalaseema, giving scattered light to moderate rains.

Meanwhile, subdued Monsoon rains will occur Bihar, Jharkhand, South Chhattisgarh, Telangana, North Interior Karnataka, South Konkan and Goa, South Madhya Maharashtra.

Rest of the country will experience dry weather.
