Monsoon Forecast for Sep 27, 2017: Rain in Tamil Nadu, Goa, Karnataka, Andaman and Nicobar

In the last 24 hours, Southwest Monsoon remained active over Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Rayalaseema, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and North Tamil Nadu.

Normal Monsoon conditions were seen over South Konkan and Goa, Vidarbha, Kerala, Sub Himalayan West Bengal, Nagaland, Mizoram, Manipur and Tripura.

Major rain contribution came from Nalgonda and Port Blair that recorded 68 mm of rainfall, followed by Car Nicobar at 58 mm and Kavali at 53 mm.

As on September 25, the cumulative countrywide rainfall continues to be deficient by 5%. Talking about the regional distribution, Northwest India. Central, South along with East and Northeast India are witnessing a deficiency of 9, 5, 2 and 3 percent.

At present, Western end of the axis of Monsoon trough is running close to the foothills of Himalayas, while the eastern end is passing via Bahraich, Gorakhpur, Patna, Purulia and Digha towards West Central Bay of Bengal.

During the next 24 hours, Active Monsoon conditions will prevail over Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep, Rayalaseema, Karnataka, North Tamil Nadu, South Konkan and Goa along with South Madhya Maharashtra.

Live status of Lightning and thunder

Monsoon will remain normal over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, remaining parts of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Coastal Odisha, Gangetic and Sub Himalayan West Bengal and Nagaland, Mizoram, Manipur and Tripura.
