In the last 24 hours, Vigorous Monsoon was seen over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Delhi, West Uttar Pradesh, North Madhya Pradesh and in a few parts of Haryana. Monsoon remained active over East Uttar Pradesh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Northeast India and parts of West Madhya Pradesh. Whereas normal Monsoon conditions were seen over the rest of the country except Gujarat and most parts of Rajasthan.
Major rain contribution came from Najibabad that recorded 124 mm of rainfall, followed by Aligarh at 123 mm and Mukteshwar 113 mm.
As on September 22, the cumulative countrywide rainfall is rain deficient by 4%. Talking about the regional distribution, Northwest India, Central and South India are rain deficient regions by 9%, 4% and 2%, respectively.

At present the axis of Monsoon trough is seen passing through the Amritsar, Moradabad, Bahraich, Sitamani, Kishanganj, Shillong and then further eastwards.
During the next 24 hours, Vigorous Monsoon conditions are likely over Extreme North Haryana, Northwest Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh. Meanwhile, Monsoon will be active over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.

Normal Monsoon conditions are likely over East Jammu & Kashmir, rest of northeastern states, a few parts of Maharashtra, South Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Telangana.
