Monsoon Forecast for Sep 23, 2017: Rain in Delhi, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand

In the last 24 hours, Vigorous Monsoon was seen over Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and parts of Konkan and Goa. Monsoon remained active over rest of Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, parts of Uttarakhand, Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.

Whereas normal Monsoon conditions were seen over Kerala, Coastal Karnataka, North Coastal Tamil Nadu, Gangetic West Bengal, parts of Odisha and rest of northeastern states.

Major rain contribution came from Harnai that recorded 319 mm of rainfall, followed by Shajapur at 139 mm and Bhira 119 mm.

As on September 21, the cumulative countrywide rainfall continues to remain deficient by 5%. Talking about the regional distribution, Northwest India, Central and South India are rain deficient regions by 11%, 5% and 1%, respectively.

At present the axis of Monsoon trough is seen passing through Bikaner, Ajmer, well-marked low, Pendra, Jharsuguda and Paradip towards east-central Bay of Bengal.

During the next 24 hours, Vigorous Monsoon conditions are likely over parts of Uttarakhand and Northwest Uttar Pradesh. Meanwhile, Monsoon will be active over Delhi, Haryana, rest of Uttar Pradesh, parts of Madhya Maharashtra, Konkan and Goa, parts of Madhya Pradesh and Bihar.

Live status of Lightning and thunder

Normal Monsoon conditions are likely over Odisha, West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Assam, Meghalaya, coastal Andhra Pradesh and coastal Karnataka.
