Monsoon Forecast for Sep 18, 2017: Rain in Coastal Maharashtra, Vidarbha, Telangana, Gujarat

During the last 24 hours, Monsoon remained vigorous over Kerala, Karnataka Coast and isolated parts of Rayalaseema.

Active Monsoon conditions were seen over South and East Gujarat, South Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Telangana, Rayalaseema, Andhra Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu.

Monsoon remained subdued over Northeast and East India.

Major rain contribution came from Thrissur that recorded 118 mm of rainfall, followed by Cannur at 110 mm and Kozhikode 100 mm.

As on September 16, the cumulative countrywide rainfall continues to be deficient by 6%. Coming to the regional distribution, Northwest, Central and South India are rain deficient by 10%, 9% and 1%, respectively.

At present, the axis of Monsoon trough is passing through Amritsar, Ambala, Bareilly, Siddhi, Ambikapur, Paradip and towards East Central Bay of Bengal.

During the next 24 hours, Monsoon will remain vigorous over Kerala, Coastal Karnataka and parts of Konkan and Goa.

Active Monsoon conditions will be seen over Northeast India, Jharkhand, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu.

Live status of Lightning and thunder

Monsoon will remain normal over Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Vidarbha, Telangana, Karnataka along with South Gujarat.
