During the last 24 hours, Southwest Monsoon was vigorous over Konkan and Goa and Coastal Karnataka. While it remained active over Kerala and Andaman and Nicobar islands, South Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, South Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, North Coastal Odisha, and parts of Telangana.
Normal Monsoon conditions were seen over Interior Karnataka, Rayalaseema, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, rest of Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Gangetic West Bengal.
Major rain contribution came from Karwar that recorded 92 mm of rainfall, followed by Harnai at 80 mm, and Bardhaman 71 mm.
As on September 14, the cumulative countrywide rainfall continues to be deficient by 6%. Coming to the regional distribution, Northwest and Central India are rain deficient by 9% and South India by 2 %.

At present, the axis of Monsoon trough is passing through Jammu, Dehradun, Hardoi, Varanasi, Ranchi, Digha and further towards North Bay of Bengal.
During the next 24 hours, Monsoon will remain active over South Gujarat, coastal and north interior parts of Karnataka and Kerala, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra.

Meanwhile, Normal Monsoon conditions are expected Rayalaseema, Telangana, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Chhattisgarh and parts of Jharkhand.
