During the last 24 hours, Southwest Monsoon was vigorous over South Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Vidarbha, Marathwada, Konkan and Goa, North and Coastal Karnataka and parts of Gujarat. Whereas active Monsoon conditions were witnessed over Northeast India, Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala.
Major rain contribution came from Mumbai that recorded 103 mm of rainfall, followed by Adilabad at 94 mm and Aurangabad at 82 mm.
As on September 12, the cumulative countrywide rainfall continues to be deficient by 6%. Coming to the regional distribution, East & Northeast continue with normal rains, while Northwest, Central and South India are still rain deficient by 8%, 10% and 3%, respectively.

At present, the axis of Monsoon trough continues to run through Amritsar, Moradabad, Patna, Bankura, Canning towards Northeast Bay of Bengal.
During the next 24 hours, Active Monsoon conditions are likely over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Madhya Pradesh, South Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, Marathwada, Konkan and Goa including Mumbai, North Interior Karnataka, parts of Telangana.

Meanwhile, normal Monsoon conditions are expected over Assam, North Bihar, parts of Odisha, Gujarat, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Interior Tamil Nadu.
