Southwest Monsoon has covered most parts of Coastal and South Interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and parts of northeastern states. With weather conditions favourable, Hyderabad and Mumbai will also not have to wait for very long for the arrival of Monsoon.
During the last 24 hours, active Monsoon conditions were seen over Kerala and Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Meanwhile, Monsoon remained normal over Karnataka, South Tamil Nadu, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Lakshadweep.
Major contribution came from Ratnagiri saw 118 mm of rain, followed by Long Island at 77 mm, Kozhikode at 59 mm, Cochin 52 mm and Mumbai 51 mm of rains.

During the last 24 hours, country witnessed 4 percent surplus rain. With this, the seasonal countrywide rainfall stands at 3 percent. As far as the regional distribution is concerned, Central and South India are surplus by 33 and 62 percent, respectively. Whereas, East Northeast and Northwest India are deficient by 38 percent and 43 percent, respectively.
The Northern Limit of Monsoon is passing through Shirali, Chitradurga, Arogyavaram, Sriharikota, Agartala, Lumding and North Lakhimpur.
Southwest Monsoon is expected to cover remaining parts of Karnataka, South Konkan & Goa, South Madhya Maharashtra, Rayalaseema, parts of Telangana and some more parts of northeastern states very soon.

During the next 24 hours, Monsoon will remain normal over Coastal Karnataka, Kerala, Andaman and Nicobar Island, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, and Lakshadweep. Meanwhile, subdued Monsoon conditions are likely to prevail over South Tamil Nadu.
