Monsoon Forecast for June 29, 2018: Monsoon rain in Delhi, Goa, Coastal Karnataka, Kerala

Southwest Monsoon has covered Southeast Rajasthan, most parts of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh, entire Jammu & Kashmir and parts of Punjab.

With this, the Northern Limit of Monsoon passes through Veraval, Amreli, Ahmedabad, Udaipur, Sawai Madhopur, Aligarh, Tehri, Una and Amritsar.

During the last 24 hours, Monsoon remained vigorous over South Coastal Karnataka, Kerala and Coastal Odisha; while active Monsoon conditions were witnessed over Vidarbha, Southeast Madhya Pradesh and Telangana.

Major rainfall contribution came from Puri that recorded heavy rains to the tune of 138 mm, followed by Kannur 122 mm and Shirali 108 mm.

As of June 27, the countrywide cumulative rainfall is deficient by 10%. Division-wise, South India is surplus by 17%, while East & Northeast, Northwest and Central India remained deficit by 26, 20 and 6%, respectively.

During the next 24 hours; Jammu & Kashmir, Coastal Karnataka and parts of Kerala would observe active to vigorous Monsoon conditions that could give moderate to heavy rains, with one or two very heavy spells.

Monsoon will remain active over Konkan & Goa, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Coastal Odisha, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim that would see moderate to heavy showers.

Meanwhile, Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal, Northeastern states, Telangana, Madhya Maharashtra, East Rajasthan, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand would witness normal Monsoon conditions that could give light to moderate rains.
