Monsoon Forecast for June 28, 2018: Rain in Coastal Karnataka, Konkan, Andhra Pradesh

Southwest monsoon has marked its arrival in parts of Odisha, rest of West Bengal, and many parts of Jharkhand and Bihar. Now, the Northern Limit of Monsoon is passing through Veraval, Amreli, Ahmedabad, Khandwa, Amravati, Gondia, Jharsuguda, Daltonganj and Chhapra.

During the last 24 hours, Coastal Karnataka has seen active Monsoon conditions with moderate to heavy rains over the region. Meanwhile, normal Monsoon conditions were observed in Konkan, Goa, Kerala, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Vidarbha, West Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand and North-East India.

In the last 24 hours, Mangaluru saw highest rains at 65 mm, Cuttack at 55 mm, Shanti Niketan at 52 mm.

Until June 26, the country's overall rainfall is 10 percent less than normal. South India is rain surplus by 19%, East and northeast deficient by 25 percent, while Northwest and Central India are rain deficient by 29 and 6 percent.

During the next 24 hours, Monsoon will be active along the West Coast with possibility of moderate to heavy rainfall.

Meanwhile, Normal monsoon rains are likely in coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Vidarbha, West Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, and North-East India.

However, Monsoon will remain weak in Gujarat, internal Karnataka, Rayalaseema and Tamil Nadu.
