Country continued to witness weak Monsoon conditions on Thursday. Accordingly, the Northern Limit of Monsoon too remained stagnant through Thane (including Mumbai), Ahmednagar, Buldhana, Amravati, Gondia, Titlagarh, Cuttack, Midnapore, Goalpara up to Baghdogra. However, we are expecting revival of Monsoon by June 24.

During the last 24 hours, Monsoon remained vigorous over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal; while active Monsoon conditions were witnessed over Maharashtra, Telangana, Chhattisgarh and parts of Odisha.
Meanwhile, Coastal Karnataka, Kerala, Gangetic West Bengal and Northeastern states saw normal Monsoon rains.
Major rainfall contribution came from Cooch Behar that recorded hefty rains to the tune of 212 mm, followed by Harnai 178 mm and Angul 112 mm.
As per the past 24 hours, the countrywide rainfall was deficient by 44%. Correspondingly, seasonal rain was deficit by 9%.
Only South India recorded surplus rains by 34%. Otherwise; East & Northeast India, Northwest and Central were rain deficient by 29, 17 and 11%, respectively.

Let’s talk about Monsoon during the next 24 hours; Maharashtra and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal would observe active Monsoon conditions that could give moderate to heavy rains.
Meanwhile, Monsoon will remain normal over Coastal Karnataka, North Interior Karnataka, Kerala, parts of Telangana, Chhattisgarh, Odisha and Northeast India that would see light to moderate rains with one or two heavy spells.
