Monsoon Forecast for June 19, 2018: Heavy rain in Goa, Kerala, Assam, Meghalaya

Southwest Monsoon remains still as the Northern Limit of Monsoon continues to pass through Thane including Mumbai, Ahmednagar, Buldhana, Amravati, Gondia, Titlagarh, Cuttack, Midnapore, Goalpara and Baghdogra. In fact, Monsoon will not further advance for the next few days as well.

In the last 24 hours, Monsoon remained active to vigorous over Konkan & Goa, Assam, Meghalaya, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim and Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Normal Monsoon conditions were witnessed over Lakshadweep, Karnataka, Kerala and remaining northeastern states.

Meanwhile, subdued rains were witnessed over Maharashtra, Interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Rayalaseema, Telangana, Odisha and Chhattisgarh. Major rainfall contribution came from Cherrapunji that saw 127 mm of rains followed by Alibagh at 115 mm, and Ratnagiri at 107 mm.

In the next 24 hours, Monsoon will remain active over South Konkan & Goa and Coastal Karnataka, Kerala, Assam and Meghalaya giving light to moderate rain with few heavy spells. Due to normal Monsoon conditions light to moderate rains are likely over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim and remaining northeastern states.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra, Interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Rayalaseema, Telangana, Odisha and Chhattisgarh would witness subdued Monsoon conditions.
