Southwest Monsoon remains stagnant and thus, Northern Limit of Monsoon continues to pass through Thane including Mumbai, Ahmednagar, Buldhana, Amravati, Gondia, Titlagarh, Cuttack, Midnapore, Goalpara and Baghdogra. In fact, Monsoon will not further advance for the next few days as well.

In the last 24 hours, Monsoon remained active to vigorous over Northeast India, Coastal Karnataka, Goa and Kerala. Meanwhile, normal Monsoon conditions were witnessed over Lakshadweep, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, parts of West Bengal, North Interior Karnataka and Interior Tamil Nadu.
Major rainfall contribution came from Goalpara that saw 121 mm of rains followed by Silchar at 85 mm, and Lengpui 81 mm of rains.
During the last 24 hours, the countrywide rainfall was deficient by 2%. However, seasonal rain is still surplus by 16 percent rains. Central and Southern India remained rain surplus by 43 percent and 73 percent, respectively. Meanwhile, North India, East and Northeast India are rain deficient by 16 and 24 percent, respectively.
In the next 24 hours, Monsoon will remain active giving light to moderate rain with few heavy spells over South Konkan and Goa, Coastal Karnataka, Kerala, Sub Himalayan West Bengal and Northeast India.

Due to normal Monsoon conditions light to moderate rains are likely over North Konkan, Vidarbha, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep.
Meanwhile, Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Marathwada and Madhya Maharashtra would witness subdued Monsoon conditions.
