Monsoon Forecast for Jun 29, 2017: Heavy rains in Mumbai, Goa, Kerala; Monsoon to hit Delhi

Southwest Monsoon was vigorous over Konkan and Goa, Kerala, Vidarbha and South Madhya Pradesh, while it was active over Coastal Karnataka, South Gujarat, rest parts of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh along with parts of Jharkhand.

Meanwhile, Monsoon remained subdued over Madhya Maharashtra, Rayalaseema, South Tamil Nadu, Bihar and northeastern states.

Major contribution came from Nagpur wherein 113 mm of rain was recorded in the past 24 hours, followed by Malanjkhand at 108 mm and Mahabaleshwar 87 mm.

The countrywide cumulative rainfall continues to stand at -1 percent as on June 27. As far as the regional distribution is concerned, Northwest and South India are surplus by 21 and 11 percent. Whereas Central, East and Northeast India are deficient by 1 and 14 percent.

The Northern Limit of Monsoon is currently passing through Barmer, Chittorgarh, Guna, Satna, Siddhi and Patna. Southwest Monsoon is likely to cover remaining parts of Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, East Uttar Pradesh, entire West Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Delhi, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir and most parts of Rajasthan during next 2 ­ 3 days.

During the next 24 hours, Monsoon is likely to remain vigorous over parts of Konkan & Goa and Kerala. Mumbai is expected to continue witnessing moderate to heavy rains.

Live status of Lightning and thunder

South Gujarat, Coastal Karnataka, Vidarbha, parts of Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, foothills of Bihar, sub-Himalayan West Bengal and parts of Assam will witness active Monsoon.

On the other hand, Monsoon rains will remain subdued over Marathwada, Madhya Maharashtra, Interior Karnataka, Rayalaseema and Tamil Nadu. Normal monsoon conditions are likely over rest of northeastern states.
