Monsoon Forecast for Jun 20, 2017: More rains to lash Maharashtra, Goa, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh

Southwest Monsoon remained active to vigorous over several parts of Northeast India, while normal Monsoon conditions were observed over Konkan and Goa, Karnataka, Kerala, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana during the last 24 hours.

Major contribution came from Pasighat that recorded 94 mm of rainfall in past 24 hours, followed by Gangtok at 87 mm and Kailashahar 62 mm.

The countrywide cumulative rainfall has further decreased and now stands at 6% as on June 18. Presently, South Peninsula is surplus by 14% and Central India by 12%. The only deficient is East and Northeast India at -6%.

The northern limit of Monsoon is now passing through Valsad, Nashik, Buldana, Jharsugda, Jamshedpur and Bhagalpur.

During the next 24 hours, active to vigorous Monsoon conditions will continue over most parts of northeastern states, while moderate to heavy Monsoon showers are likely along the West Coast, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Vidarbha.

Live status of Lightning and thunder

Meanwhile, light to moderate Monsoon rains will be seen over Madhya Maharashtra, Odisha, Jharkhand, East Bihar, sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim.

However, Monsoon will remain weak over Tamil Nadu, Rayalaseema, South Interior Karnataka and Gangetic West Bengal. Kolkata and Bengaluru would see subdued rains.
