Southwest Monsoon remained vigorous over Konkan and Goa, Coastal Karnataka, Madhya Maharashtra, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh during the last 24 hours.
Major contribution came from Nanded that recorded 80 mm of rainfall in past 24 hours, followed by Honnavar at 79 mm and Panjim 60 mm.
Though good rains were recorded across the country during the last 24 hours but the countrywide cumulative rainfall decreased to 10% on June 15 as compared to 15% on June 14. Presently, South Peninsula is surplus by 18% whereas Central India is excess by 25%. However, East and Northeast India continues to be rain deficient by 8%.

The northern limit of Monsoon continues to pass through Valsad, Nashik, Adilabad, Jagdalpur, Kolkata and Darjeeling.
Further during the next 24 hours, active Monsoon conditions will continue to give moderate to heavy showers over Coastal Karnataka, Goa, many parts of Maharashtra, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
Live status of Lightning and thunder
Monsoon rains will once again pick up pace over Northeast India and heavy showers will return over Assam, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh. However, Monsoon will remain subdued over Coastal Gujarat, Tamil Nadu and Interior Karnataka. The weather conditions seem favorable for further progress of Monsoon over Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal and Northeast Bihar.
