Monsoon Forecast for July 25, 2018: Rain in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand

The axis of monsoon trough is currently passing through Bikaner, Jaipur, center of well-marked low-pressure area over Northwest Madhya Pradesh, Daltonganj, Purulia, Digha and towards East central Bay of Bengal.

During the last 24 hours, Monsoon remained active over Madhya Pradesh, East Rajasthan, Jammu, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Meghalaya, East Assam and Kerala.

Major rainfall contribution came from Sawai Madhopur that recorded 99 mm of rain, followed by Pachmarhi 92 mm, Kochi 75 mm and Sundernagar 74 mm.

As on July 23, the countrywide cumulative rainfall is deficient by 2%. Division-wise, Central and South India are rainfall surplus by 18% and 13%. Meanwhile, Northwest and East & Northeast India are rain deficient by 7% and 32%, respectively.

During the next 24 hours, North Madhya Pradesh would observe vigorous Monsoon conditions that would give heavy to very heavy rains. Meanwhile, active Monsoon conditions will prevail over East Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Punjab, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim resulting in light to moderate rains with few heavy spells.

Normal Monsoon rains are likely over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Prdaesh, Delhi, Coastal Karnataka, Kerala, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, West Bengal and northeastern states. Light rains are expected to continue in Mumbai.
