The axis of monsoon trough continues to pass through Anupgarh, Jhunghunu, Shivpuri, Sidhi, Pendra, Chaibasa, Digha and then east-southeastwards to East central Bay of Bengal.
During the last 24 hours, Monsoon remained vigorous over South Gujarat, South Konkan & Goa, Northeast Madhya Pradesh along with isolated pockets of East Rajasthan and West Uttar Pradesh.
Meanwhile, active Monsoon conditions were witnessed by Coastal Karnataka, Kerala, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim and parts of Punjab.

Major rainfall contribution came from Mahabaleshwar that recorded 171 mm of rain, followed by Diu at 137 mm and Surat 119 mm of rain.
As on July 12, the countrywide cumulative rainfall is deficient by 8%. Division-wise, Central and South India are rainfall surplus by 1% and 15%. Meanwhile, Northwest and East & Northeast India are rain deficient by 12% and 28%, respectively.
During the next 24 hours, Gujarat, Southeast Rajasthan, West Madhya Pradesh, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and parts of Vidarbha would observe vigorous Monsoon conditions resulting in heavy to very heavy rains.
Meanwhile, active Monsoon conditions will prevail over Konkan & Goa, Coastal Karnataka, Kerala, remaining parts of Madhya Pradesh, West Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim with light to moderate rains and a few heavy spells. Mumbai rains are all set to increase now but extremely heavy showers will be ruled out for some more time.

Normal Monsoon rains are likely over Madhya Maharashtra, northeastern states, parts of Bihar, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, North Rajasthan, parts of Haryana and Punjab.
