Southwest Monsoon remained vigorous over Meghalaya, North West Bengal, East Uttar Pradesh, parts of Bihar, and East Madhya Pradesh. Active Monsoon conditions were seen over Northeastern states, remaining parts of West Bengal, Coastal Karnataka and Konkan and Goa
Major contribution came from Kanpur that recorded 112 mm of rainfall in the past 24 hours, followed by Gaya at 107 mm and Cherrapunji 99 mm.
As on July 4, the country witnessed 6% surplus rainfall. Presently, North West India is surplus by 46 %, South India by 2%. While, East and Northeast India is deficient by 11%
The Northern Limit of Monsoon continues to pass through Barmer, Sikar, Sonipat, Shimla, Una and Jammu.

During the next 24 hours vigorous Monsoon condition is likely over Central and East Uttar Pradesh, Meghalaya and Tripura. Coastal Karnataka, Konkan and Goa, Northeast Madhya Pradesh, North Chhattisgarh, Sub Himalayan West Bengal, most parts of Northeast India, parts of Bihar, West Uttar Pradesh, and foothills of Uttarakhand will witness active Monsoon conditions.

Normal Monsoon conditions are expected over Andaman and Nicobar Island, Kerala, Jharkhand, rest of Chhattisgarh, Gangetic West Bengal and Interior Odisha. Mumbai and Kolkata will receive light to moderate rains while Delhi is likely to witness very light showers.
