Southwest Monsoon remained vigorous over Rajasthan. Active Monsoon conditions were seen over entire Northeastern states, West Bengal, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, West Rajasthan, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
Normal Monsoon conditions were seen over Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Maharashtra, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala.
Major contribution came from Mahabaleshwar that recorded 60 mm of rain, followed by Daltonganj at 59 mm, and Pondicherry at 53 mm.
As on July 29, the cumulative countrywide rainfall now stands at 3%. As far as the regional distribution is concerned, Northwest India is surplus by 18% Central India by 12% Whereas, South, East and Northeast India are rain deficient by 16% and 7%, respectively.

At present, the axis of Monsoon trough continues to pass through Bikaner, Shivpuri, Fursatganj, Malda and up to Mizoram.
During the next 24 hours, Monsoon is likely to remain vigorous over North Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and West Uttar Pradesh.
Live status of Lightning and thunder
Active Monsoon conditions are expected over East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Northeast India.
Meanwhile, Normal Monsoon conditions will be seen over Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.
