Southwest Monsoon was vigorous over Southwest Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat, while active Monsoon was observed over remaining parts of Madhya Pradesh, South Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Konkan & Goa, Coastal Karnataka, Kerala, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, South and West Rajasthan and parts of Punjab.
Major contribution came from Raisen where 209 mm of rain was recorded, followed by Valsad at 162 mm, and Guna at 96 mm.
As on July 27, the cumulative countrywide rainfall has come down to 4%. As far as the regional distribution is concerned, Northwest India is surplus by 18%, Central India by 13% while South Peninsula is rain deficient by 15%.
At present, the axis of Monsoon trough is passing through Jaisalmer, centre of well-marked low over Northwest Madhya Pradesh, Satna, Daltonganj, Purulia, Digha towards Northeast Bay of Bengal.

During the next 24 hours, Monsoon is likely to remain vigorous over many parts of East Gujarat, South and Southeast Rajasthan and West Madhya Pradesh. Meanwhile, Konkan & Goa, Coastal Karnataka and Kerala will witness active Monsoon conditions.
Live status of Lightning and thunder
Meanwhile normal Monsoon conditions will occur over North Punjab, foothills of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, Uttarakhand, South Himachal Pradesh, South Jammu and Kashmir, Northeast India, South Chhattisgarh, North Coastal Andhra Pradesh and adjoining South Coastal Odisha. As far as the metro cities are concerned, Monsoon will result in good rains over Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata. However, dry weather will persist over Hyderabad and Bengaluru.
